Our
mudloggers
have
more
than
10
years
of
experience
at
deep
drill
sites
and
are
always
ready
to
protect
a
drill
hole
from
critical
situations.
They
are
trained
to
recognise
problems
and
to
alert
supervisors,
no
matter
if
the
problems
may
be
caused
by
critical
geology
or
by
gas
enclosures
in
the
rock. Thus our geologists contribute to the success of the project.

Our wellsite geologists:
•
are degreed geologists or geophysicists (German „Diplom“ or „Master“)
•
have long-term experience on deep drill sites
•
are experienced with the geology of Northern Germany, the Netherlands, the south German molasse
basin and Austria
•
have an excellent command in both German and English (some are IELTS certified) and partly other languages
•
are partly postgraduate certificated in geothermal technology (PG Cert Geotherm Tech)

•
Standard sample interval 5 m
•
Interval 2 m when approaching casing depth, exploration target or other important layers
•
Measuring of oil ratio using fluorescence
•
Determination of calcite/dolomite-ratio in carbonate bearing horizons
•
Description of the samples according to international standards
•
Continuous updates of sampler- / litho- / master logs
•
Compilation of daily reports, weekly reports, monthly and final reports as demanded by the client
•
Transmission of reports and updated logs by e-mail or fax as demanded by the client
•
Participation at pre spud meetings, safety meetings and on-site meetings
•
Immediate reporting about geological and technical anomalies to drilling supervisors and driller
•
Reporting in German or English
Generally
our
mudlogger
units
operate
day

night
(24/7).
The
mudloggers
retrieve
sample

each
5

(depending
on
the
demand
of
the
client
and
the
geology)
from
the
shakers.
All
samples
are
lag

corrected.
Parts
of
the
wet
sample
are stored for possible further investigation of original and not treated rock material in a external laboratory.
The
rest
of
the

sample
is
cleaned
immediately
and
sieved
by
grain

The

analyses
the

sample
under

microscope
in
order
to
determine
the
composition
of
the
drilled
rock
(if
necessary
with
the
help
of
chemicals).
With
the
results
a
litholog
will
be
compiled.
The
analysed
rock
sample
is
stored
(seperated
into
different
grain
sizes)
in
glass
tubes.
Thus
lithological
changes
can
be
determined
while
the
drilling
process

happening
and
drilling
foremen
and
well
site
geologists can be informed as soon as possible.

Continuously complicating deep wells but also obligatory documentation requirements by the clients increase the job
specifications for the GeoService staff. The development in data processing within the last decade has been a decisive
instrument in improving our quality.
The trustworthiness of the sensor technology used by GeoService has been proven and field-tested for many years. By the
means of our on-site provided software it is possible to illustrated the data in a variety of display formats. This service has
been appreciated by our clients and is very helpful in different situations while drilling.
GeoService provides a network that meets the specification of the client. In this way all data can be made available to clients
and service companies in real time.
Our well trained staff guarantees that the measurement instrumentation and data aquisition runs error-free.
We offer following sensor technology:
Rotation encoder to measure:
